I called Appliance Repair Services about 10 AM on a Tuesday asking for help with my refer/freezer which was no longer dispensing water. I was offered a technician visit at my home between 1 and 4 that day, with the upfront understanding there would be a $70 charge for a diagnosis and this amount would be deducted from the bill for any repair.
Omar, the technician, called 10 mom ahead of this arrival and appeared about 2:30. After listening to my story he immediately opened a key location and did a little testing. The problem was a frozen water line which could be thawed simply by leaving the freezer door open for an hour or so. Or, for an additional charge he could try to speed that process a bit. He clearly described the workings of the water system and made recommendations for putting the unit on standby were we to travel. I decided I could thaw the line on my own, based on his instructions, and save a bit of money.
